Singer, pianist and bandleader Ruben Hein directs the National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NJJO); a big band of 20 world-class musical talents. They are referred to as the ‘Young Orange’ of the jazz, referencing the young national football squad. For the Dutch Harp Festival they will team up with experimental harpists and perform an exciting mix of pop and jazz, with a symphonic edge, starring – among others – Ruben himself.
Ruben Hein is famed for his characteristic, warm, voice, his soulful jazzy popsongs and self-willed piano playing. His musical eduction brought him from his debut on Blue Note, past various genres, styles and collaborations with national and international celebrities.
