Lunch concert: Liszt & Chopin

At only 23, Belgian Anneleen Lenaerts is already one of the best harpists in the world. She has won some of the major international harp competitions and, in 2010, she was chosen to be First Harpist with the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra. This programme of transcriptions of works by Liszt and Chopin shows that she is also a harpist of guts, full of passion for beautiful music.

Harp Route: concerts in the city centre

with a.o. Atlantic Harp Duo, first prizewinners of the Rosa Spier Competition and Duo Bilitis

Short, free harp concerts throughout Utrecht! The audience can follow an official route, starting after the concert by Anneleen Lenaerts in Vredenburg Leeuwenbergh. The concert locations are places like museums, churches, Central Station, the library and Dom Tower (Domtoren).

Competition: Final Round!

With the three finalists of the Dutch Harp Competition 2012 and the Nieuwe Philharmonie Utrecht, conducted by Johannes Leertouwer

Out of the 70 candidates from 28 countries, three finalists remain. They are going to play Rodrigo’s masterpiece, Concierto de Aranjuez, in a beautiful but unknown version for the harp. There is a great deal at stake this evening: a concert tour and a total of 20,000 euros in prize money, that will be presented by an internationally renowned jury. The audience decides who wins the audience prize!
